Indigo Mountain offers a variety of volunteer opportunities for all ages who have a sincere desire and commitment to wildlife education and conservation.

Indigo Mountain needs enthusiastic, outgoing people who love wildlife to join the staff of volunteers in areas of Education, Fundraising, and Marketing.  Volunteers are also needed for special programs including construction, maintenance and gardening.

The Volunteer Program offers a broad variety of unique experiences for qualified people. There are many reasons why you should become a volunteer and share the joys that come with your involvement.  Volunteering at Indigo Mountain offers a chance to enrich your life through a better understanding of the natural world and earth’s vanishing wildlife.  You will have the opportunity to develop special relationships with others who share a common interest. You can gain valuable training and interact with some of the most unique animals in the world, as well as play an important role in the conservation of nature.

The volunteer program consists of different levels carrying different responsibilities and commitments. There are a limited number of volunteer positions available. Therefore, each applicant must complete an application and an interview prior to acceptance into the program.

Paid Positions

Indigo Mountain Nature Center is one of the few animal facilities in this country run by an all-volunteer staff. Since the Center was founded in 2000 over 200 volunteers have logged well over 5000 hours working at the center. We receive numerous calls, emails, letters and resumes each year from people looking for a paying position or free room and board.  We currently offer no paid positions at Indigo Mountain.
