Here are two photos showing Sue Cranston grooming a few of the animals to collect the shed fur during shedding season. The animals love it, and the undercoat can be utilized for many things. All of our animals are groomed daily.
The Indigo Mountain volunteers spend many hours gently grooming animals as they shed their coats each summer. You can imagine just how much "fluff" is collected from all the wolfdogs, coydogs and
bears! A great deal of the fur is shipped to the great folks from Starwolf Weavings to be blended and spun into beautiful works of art.
These vials of canine or bear fluff are available for a $5 donation to the Center. All proceeds go to the care of the animals. Some of it is cleaned and bottled into small vials. Also, when you adopt your favorite Indigo Mountain animal for yourself or a friend your contribution goes directly to the care and feeding of that animal. Your annual honorary animal sponsorship includes a bottle of the animals fur.
