The habitat design should be the primary consideration for the care and well being of an animal. A good habitat provides more than adequate space to allow for the animal’s basic needs. When designing the habitat consider the physical placement, useable space, den areas, feeders, water dispensers, drainage, get away areas. The animal needs to be able to get away from any situation or person that makes it uncomfortable or nervous. It should also allow the animal to explore and investigate its surroundings, ground cover and native vegetation.
