| | | | Indigo Mountain Awarded EPYCS Grants
Indigo Mountain was awarded 4 grants from the Pikes Peak region of the El Pomar Youth in Community Service (EPYCS) this week. This unique program is a collaborative effort between the El Pomar Foundation and high schools throughout Colorado. The program was designed to teach high school students the importance of community service, leadership, philanthropy and the nonprofit sector. Each participating high school creates a mini foundation by determining their Mission Statement and raising funds. The El Pomar Foundation then awards a matching grant to the school. The students then follow an evaluation process, interview selected nonprofits and in the end award grants to the participating non-profits. We want to thank the wonderful students of Doherty High School, Mitchell High School, Sand Creek High School, Tesla Educational Opportunity Program and of course the El Pomar Foundation for their generous grants to our Education Program. These grants will enable the Center to broaden our educational outreach programs. look for all new programs such as The Bear Facts soon.
