High content wolfdog
Aiyana and her sister Nahima were born to a backyard breeder in New Mexico in the spring of 2000. They were somehow orphaned as pups and never properly socialized. Somehow, they escaped their yard and were collected by Animal Control.
At 12 weeks of age the two starving pups were taken to the North American Wolf Association (NAWA) in Texas. In 2003 the NAWA sanctuary was closed and Aiyana and Nahima were brought to Indigo Mountain. While Aiyana lacks the trust of a more socialized animal, she is curious of her new keepers. We hope in time she will come around to trust again.
She has become the alpha female of the four pack consisting of Welela, Nahima and Yana Usdi.
